Citation Searching: IEEE Xplore

Finding Citing Articles in IEEE Xplore

Look in this database for content covering engineering disciplines.

This database provides access only to content published by IEEE. However, the information about citing articles refers to citing articles that are also in the IEEE Xplore database, as well as citing articles from other publishers.

1) Navigate to IEEE Xplore from the library databases page (if you are off-campus you will be asked to enter your username and password - the same one as for your MTU e-mail).

2) On the main search page, enter the title of the article you are looking for and click "Search."

3) Near the bottom of the record for your article, click the link that reads "Cited by n." Note: if this link is not present, then no other articles in the IEEE database cite that article.

You can also search by author if you'd like to see all of a particular author's articles in IEEE. From the main page, enter the author's name in the search box with the format "Last name, FirstInitial.MiddleInitial."

You will get a list of all articles by this author, with links under each record to the citing articles.
