Finding Dissertations & Theses
Where you look for a dissertation or thesis depends on the originating institution. There are different resources to search depending on whether you are looking for an MTU dissertation, or a dissertation from a different institution.
MTU Dissertations & Theses
You can find dissertations and theses by Michigan Tech students through the library catalog, or through an external database. Both are linked below.
- Digital Commons @ Michigan TechFull text of Michigan Tech theses and dissertations from 1998-present.
- Dissertations & Theses @ Michigan Technological University This link opens in a new windowProvides a searchable full text database of dissertations submitted by Michigan Tech to UMI's Dissertation database. Full-text PDF files are available for most dissertations from 1968. Also includes some theses.
- Advanced Library Catalog SearchOn the line that says "Material Type" use the drop-down menu to select "Dissertations."
Dissertations & Theses From Elsewhere
The following links are a few places where you can find dissertations from other institutions. Some library databases also index dissertations in addition to other types of material, so you can check there as well. If you find one of interest, use InterLibrary Loan to request it.
