Accessing Esri GIS Software and Web Applications at Michigan Tech

This guide provides a tutorial on how to download and access Esri GIS Software and Web Applications using your Michigan Tech SSO account.

Accessing Esri Web Apps

All Michigan Tech students, faculty, and staff with an SSO account have access to ArcGIS Online, Esri training materials, and Web applications such as ArcGIS StoryMaps, Dashboards, and Survey123.

Use any of the links below to access specific GIS products:

ArcGIS Online: https://www.arcgis.com/index.html

ArcGIS StoryMaps: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/

ArcGIS Survey123: https://survey123.arcgis.com/

Esri Training Materials: https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/search/

You can access any of these applications and training materials using your Michigan Tech SSO sign-in credentials.

If you are looking for instructions on how to download ArcGIS Pro Desktop software, please see the tab above on Downloading ArcGIS Pro.

Step-by-step instructions for signing into ArcGIS Online:

1. Go to https://www.arcgis.com/index.html and click the Sign in button.

2. Select Your ArcGIS Organization's URL and enter 'mtu' (the full URL will be mtu.maps.arcgis.com). Please note you do not need an account to do this. One will be automatically created for you when you login using your MTU SSO credentials.

3. Select Michigan Tech SSO login and you will be prompted to enter your MTU SSO credentials.

4. You should now be on the homepage for ArcGIS Online at Michigan Tech. Here you can create maps, view existing content, add new content, or access other web applications such as StoryMaps and Survey123.
