Embed Learning Resources in your Canvas Course


Search the library’s resources directly from your Canvas course! The Library has developed a Canvas page that brings together a live search and links to essential library services in one place, making it easy for students to start their research and writing projects.

Searching Canvas Commons

1. In order to import the library Canvas page, navigate to the Canvas Commons. It is an option on the Canvas navigation bar on the left side of the screen. 

2. Once in Canvas Commons, search for "VPOL or "Van Pelt" and the page "Welcome to the Van Pelt and Opie Library" will be an option.

3. Click the title to open the page. 



Importing Into Your Canvas Courses

After you are in the library Canvas page, you can import it into the course(s) of your choice and edit it to suit your needs. 

Here is a screenshot of a portion of the page to see what it looks like. To import into your course(s), click the "Import/Download" button on the right. 





A box will open and all of your Canvas courses will be listed. Add the library Canvas page to your course(s) by selecting your courses with the checkboxes.

To search for other courses that don't appear in your list, use the search bar. 



Click the "Import" button at the bottom of the course list and the library page will be directly added to your courses(s).
